Hooker 2460 vs hooker 2055

The 2460's are 1 5/8 collectors with a 3in primary, and the 2055's I cannot find a price on. The price differance is about $200, is there a big differance in the way they preform?

The 2055's have a y-pipe which is one of the best ones made. The 2460's dont have one nor is one available for them, you have to have it custom made.

As far as price, check the ad at the top out ACS coatings, you can get them coated there, and he has very good prices.

Perfoemance wise I don't think it's a big difference, but if you want a y-pipe you'll have to get the 2055's. Either that or you'll have to have an exhaust shop custom build you a y-pipe, but that's kind of hit or miss since some shops will make really crappy ones while others will make ones of similar quiality to the one for the 2055's.

Either way I would order them coated from ACS. You'll be glad you did.

I love my 2055s and if I had a second chance I would have ordered them coated.

Whatever you do, don't order them coated from Hooker. I got my 2460's coated from them and not but 8 months later all the ceramic coating came off the collectors. Definitely go with somone like Jet-Hot, ACS, or CE Coatings. Besides it will probably be less than what Hooker charges for their coating too...

I want to get a set of the 2055's coated for my 92 RS, but all the charts that I have seen don't seem to go up to 1992. Will these headers still fit into my car. It's a stock L03 TBI V8 motor.

I am going to get my catback at the same time, so any install suggestions would be helpful.

But my main concern is these coated 2055's fitting into my car.

I got the 2460's off ebay jet hot coated for $260 with a Y pipe. The pipe is off a TPI car does anyone know if that means I should buy a TPI catback even though mine is a TBI?

The TPI catback would most likely be larger diameter tubing, which in that cas you should get it. However I'm not sure if there's a difference between the two or not...

yes the 2055's will fit your 92 as well as the tpi fitting the tbi. Do not get anything made specifically for tbi cars as they are all made to hook up to your stock 2 1/4 system.

If I buy a Hooker TPI catback and a 3" direct fit cat, will it connect directly to my factory y-pipe? I plan on getting the Hooker 2055s in the future, but i cant do it right now... any help is greatly appreciated!

No, it won't fit directly to your factory LO3 y-pipe. But, you can have an adapter fabricated to fit it until you get the headers.
