3 1/2" exhaust pics

I finally got a digital camera so I went out to the garage and took some pics of my exhaust.
- 1.5" flowtech headers ( I know, when they rust out I'll upgrade)
- 2.5" mandrel bends cut+welded to a 2x2.625 to 3.5 y pipe
- mandrel bent 3.5" cut and welded cat back
- hooker 3.5" in/out aerochamber
- 3.5" tailpipe
The 2.5" mandrel J's and the muffler had to be ordered but I got ALL the 3.5 stuff at the local semi-tractor trailor parts store(3.5 is tiny to them)
I welded it all with a arc welder and 6013 stick.

I was Inspired by some the homebuilt exhaust I have seen here and did this last spring, let me know what you guys think.

yeah, for 500 some dollars. this guy made a budget 3 1/2" system. i want to know if they make a 4" pipe to so i can make this for a fraction of the price. it's a good thing when your blessed enough to know how to weld. even more blessed if you know where to get the supplies.

so, do they make it in 4"?

Any semi truck supply shop will have 4" mandrel pipe... cheap too. A guy in our shop built a 5" exhaust system for his Mustang, and he said they stocked up to 6"

The place I went to had 3.5, 4, 4.5, 5, and 6 inch elbows, pipes, and hardware all in stock. I could have even bought a big *** crome tail pipe
A 90 deg 3.5" elbow was 25$ canadian and the pipe was 3 or 4$ a foot. It was nice because I was able to buy the system a little at a time.

Stop by the closest truck stop and ask around.

And the Mufflex is aluminized, not stainless.

for $240, you can have the hedmen shorties and y-pipe that fit the car well and the primaries are 1 5/8". for $119, you can have hedmen longtubes, then fab up a y-pipe.

regardless to whether it's stainless/aluminized/titanium... it is all much money and the setup that rusty has may just be my answer to all of my clearance problems that i am encountering with my duals for a fraction of the cost of the mufflex system.

You only went as far as the intro page I have a Mufflex. It is aluminized. All F-Body Mufflex systems are aluminized. They make the ss products for other vehicles...

Yah, you have to have the flanges rotated the right way or it hits.
I bought those headers when I still had a 305 and didn't know any better. Once they rust out I will upgrade to a real header
They have lasted about 4 or 5 years now though.

Yep, the mufflex is aluminized...see sig.

A friend of mine is using my catback and "copying" it with some bends that we picked up at a local semi truck supply store. It will be a little less pleasing to the eye, but just as effective. The bends were approximately $5-25, depending if they were "take-offs, scraps, or new"
