Entech/Banks journey begins!
I contacted Engine Technologies today, regarding the Banks catback system.
...and as everyone else has said, they were very helpful, and all around good to deal with.
The guy I talked to (Ken) said there was a lot going on with all the F-body Banks systems, and that he'd get back to me. I also told him that I wanted the 2 opposite tips, NOT the driver side tips and that it was non negotioable. I explained that I wasn't sure if that was a thirdgen option or not, but that's why I was calling...to find out what was available.
I'll keep you all posted.

Not sure if anything else was designed since (or if thats what you're trying to find out from them), but from what I remember reading about 3 months ago or so when I was looking for a catback, if you wanted the single exit on each side, you have to order the 4thgen tailpipes and modify a hanger. Otherwise the thirdgen system is only dual exit on the driver side..

OK, Ken called me back today.
You can specify the thirdgen system with dual tips. (one on each side). Banks typically keeps a few made that way, although they don't have an official part number. At the moment, they don't have any, so Ken said it would be a few weeks. I told him I wasn't planning on ordering till February anyway, so that would be fine.

Good luck Abubaca...I am getting a Banks system too, but I am too busy trying to decide whether to get the 4th-gen rear section now, or wait and see if Banks is going to redesign the entire system with a native dual exit for third gens.
In the meantime, anybody got a pic of what Banks' 4th-gen (dual) tips look like?

From the sound of what Ken at Entech said, they're not re-designing anything. The Thirdgen system is still dual driver side outlets, but you can specify the opposite side tips, and Banks will make it that way. Apparently enough people request that, and they keep some in stock like that. At the moment, they don't, THAT'S what everyone is waiting for.
It can't be any harder than using the 3rdgen "I" pipe, with a 4th gen muffler, and re-welding the hanger right?
Kinda like a Big-Mac. It comes with Cheese. Always has, always will, but you can have them make YOU one without, if ya' like!
...but they're still not redesigning the BigMac.
...I suppose you could do it yourself, but Ken said we're only talking about a few weeks. For that, I'd rather let Banks do it.

Ah, OK -- I thought it was mentioned in an earlier post (another thread) that Entec was telling folks that the system might be redesigned entirely due to renewed demand. Even if that is true, I'm sure it's not going to happen quickly.
At any rate, sounds like now is as good a time as any to place an order. The car's current exhaust = crap, making it an embarrassment to drive. I need to replace it so I have another excuse to be out joyriding all day!

you can see a pic of the dual outlet tips like on the 4th gen (and mine) at www.speeddemonmotorsports.com ...Either way,The banks kit fit the bill for me and many others and yes just get the i-pipe,over axle pipe for the 3rd gen and the muffler section for the 4th gen and make the simple change..

Cool...talked to Ken at Entech today...said that the Banks F-body kit was a really hot item lately. Will be about 2-4 weeks before they will get the parts in stock, but he gave me a really good price on it.
Said there was a specific part# for the N10 dual-cat cars like mine, but that it wasn't any additional cost. I'm planning to place the order next week once I got the money lined up!

Hi guys,
I'm just about ready to order my Banks system from Torque and Chrome - and had a couple of last minute questions.
Can someone post a picture of the Banks system with the dual exits on the driver side? I prefer the look of the 4th generation dual style exits, but have heard that the crossflow style muffler is less efficient - is there any truth to this? Thanks for the help!

it may be slightly less efficient because of the cross flow design..Not much though if even noticeable.I dont have a pic of the two on one side, but I have seen a few guys post here of pics of their cars with that setup.Check the search archives and you should be able to locate one here..
