Good setup or no?

Whats up.

I've got a few bucks now and I'm in the planning stages for my exhaust setup.

I'm thinking coated hooker 2055s, high flow cat, and a hooker cat back.

Do you guys think I should go with this?

I need some recommendations on a cat however, because I don't know if I need a direct fit or universal for everything to bolt right up. What size do I need? Whats cheap?

Also could someone explain to me if any welding is necessary in the process? I'm not sure if the hooker y-pipe needs to be welded on to the cat or if it can bolt up. Thanks.

Hey welcome aboard. You have a nice set-up picked out there and it should be great for your car. Since you are changing everything all at once you want to order the stuff for a 350 TPI car. That way the kit does not come with any reducers on the cat connection like most of the 305 systems do. It will bolt up the exact same. You will been to get a 3" high flow cat because the hooker y pipe for those headers and the hooker cat back are both 3". Your best bet is to get a slip fit 3" in and out converter and have an exhaust shop slip it onto your cat-back. The other side will slip right onto your y pipe but the hooker cat back will have a connecting flange attached to it since it is designed to attach to the stok 350 TPI cat. You don't really have to weld anything and you can use the supplied clapms but your best bet is to have all the joints on the cat back welded to prevent any leaks. Good luck!!!
