TONS of people have this catback including me and you will love it. It does not drone or have any rasp that some other brands have yet it flows just about the best and itsn't hard on your wallet. Hooker did a great job with this kit and you will be happy. Just do a search under hooker cat back and you will get pages of stuff to read.

I got this catback and i cant wait to get rid of it. why? you ask. mainly becuz everyone is gettin it, just by me theres like 4-5 people that have it, cant wait to get my spintech pro street muffler. the one good thing about the hooker cat back is that its nice and quiet at idel and cruzin speeds but when you mash on the gas it screams.

I agree, it is a great setup, definitely worth it if you're on a budget. I love mine, I can't stress how much more I love it then the flowmaster catback I had before. But, like he said, alot of people have it now... I think I'm going with a full SLP setup or hooker longtubes and mufflex 4 inch when the time comes to build a motor.

I have it too, and love it. Easy to install, sounds great, cheap. Much better than my flowmaster setup before.

I don't wanna be like veryone else huh? So you all added it for better performance right? With different mods it will sound different. You could always change the tips, that will sorta make it different. I am not a fan of the tips, but I love the sound, the price was right, and with the DynoMax headers I am putting on it will sound better than most Flowmaster equipped cars. As a matter of fact most people I know have Flowmaster here....hmmm
As for actual performance figures....well you will feel a marginal difference....It's not NO2 your adding. I would expect maybe 10 15 hp.

I have one and I love it. With the tips included you can't really beat the price. Headers make it sound more aggresive but without headers it still sounded nice. Depending on other mods I would say a gain of anywhere from 5-15hp.

If you think everyone has one then just get different tips or tuck it in or down.

hey tim, BITE ME!!!!

hehe j/k buddy. I wanted the hooker ever since I heard it on Marks car. I just never had the money. I like the look of the hooker, and the sound over flow. Also, the price is awesome.

Here is a pic with the hooker cat back without the included tips. I too thought they weren't that nice plus they rusted really really quick. I think they have since changed that problem but I went with borla tips and it overall makes the system perfect. I know this doesn't really help you but it will help you see what other tips look like on this set-up.

Here is a pic, with the included tips.

You will want to get the tips welded on if u can.
They dont tighten down very well.
Otherwise the system is great.

That's what I thought before I bought mine - I figured I'd put on whatever tips I wanted. However, once I got them on the car and tucked nicely, I loved them! Don't let them stop you from buying the whole system....like the tips or not you can change them no problem.

same here. I was going to go with some some of the big 15 inch long chrome tips from pep boys or something, but I tucked it up as tight as I could and them mounted them. I tried getting the exhaust pipes up high enough that you cant see them. Its kind of hard with the third gens rear section that inclines.

the descrpiton on thunderracing.com says it only fits on 83 - 92 cars. is there a reason it wont fit onto an 82? i was planning on getting it for my 82 TA.

Just a couple hangers etc, Any reputable exhaust shop could make it work very easy, I researched it for mine, But then opted for a custom made setup that would be loud as hell, heh, I got it!

Mine dont stick out at all. I have them past the bumper. You can always trim up the exhaust tubes to make them smaller. Mine fit nice. Perhaps after I get the car done I can snap some shots. Oh yeah, my tips havnet rusted? wtf, do you guys sink your car in a pool of water?

I think Hooker switch the tips to stainless. The old ones were just mild steel with a thin chrome coating on them. The coating didn't even cover the material between the tubes and thats where the rust propagated. I had them on my car for one month in the summer without driving in the rain and they rusted pretty good. This was 3 years ago though. I think they learned their lesson and switched to the better material.

bigal, my savior from njfbody, hows it going...anyway...there isn't anyway to tuck the tips just maybe an inch being the end of the bumper without cutting them? I think that will look really good if they were a little further in. I've seen pictures of the borla on 4th gens, and I liked how the tips didn't stick out past the bumper, which is the look i'd try to replicate with the hooker.

Anyone know if you can get a dual cat one off a 91z28 onto a single cat 91RS?

It will take a little fab work but it is nothing that an exahust shop couldn't do for you. The mouting locations are a bit different between the two but nothing serious.

Yes, you can tuck them quite a bit. I have mine about an inch back from the bumper, and looks great. Also, you can just take a hacksaw to the pipes if you wanted to to push them back more, it's not big deal. The tips are adjustable, in that you slide them on and tighten them down where you want them. I think you'll like it.

Your face looks dumb!

J/K! Sorry couldn't help it, that's how all my comebacks go...

For real, though, I'll admit that I didn't like them at first, but now I do, although some days I feel differently.

What's important, though, is that the system itself is top notch for the money, and that the tips can be swapped out for something else easily.

Bottom Line: Don't let the tips dissuade you, get the system for the flow and sound, swap the tips if you don't like them.

Exhaust is all cut and paste anyways.

isnt that the truth!

Aslo wanted to add, the tubing is now aluminuised (mine is, kit is about a year old) and it one of the cheapest kits out there while maintiaining great fit and quality
