Installed my Hooker 2460's yesterday.

Well, Just to let everyone know, I got my coated 2460's in that I got from ACS. Very high quality stuff guys.

Anyway, the instruction sheet said in order to get the drivers side in, you had to jack the motor up 2 inches. Well, both headers slipped in from the top with no problems. The only thing I had to do was unbolt the starter and move it out of the way so the collector could slide by. BTW, I'm running the stock fullsize starter and everything fits good. I even have plenty of clearance between the plugs and the primaries. Don't know why you'd have to jack up the motor

1. Didn't bolt it up. I've been running it unbolted for about 4 months and the only thing I did was pull it, clean in and seal it with high temp RTV and never had a leak. I cut the mounting ear off so it would scratch up my coating.

2. Awesome service with ACS. He was out of a product I needed when I called and he substituted a better product for the same price.

3. Couldn't really be a judge on the shipping times. I live about an hour away and it was here really quick anyway. He had them done when he promised and shipped them right away and packaged them very good.

4. Just using the standard header bolts that came with my headers. Did the same on my last set and had no problems.

Depending on year, my 86 needed the A/C compressor bracket cut. The install sheet that came with the headers shows you how to need to cut it. This is with a serpentine/v-belt system. Not sure on the others.

what are you using for a y-pipe. i was thinking about getting the 2460's or the hedman 68470. i am leaning towards the hedmans because they sell a y-pipe for there headers.

Had an exhaust shop make one. When they made it, it was for my Flowtechs and cost $100.

Got them to tweak it some and weld my new collectors on for $50 (by tweak I mean they had to rebuild half the damn thing, lol)
