Borla Cat-back for cheap?

Are these guys legit....they sell the borla cat-back for $479

http://www.customracer.com/firebird_exhaust.html

If this is legit then it would make it much more comparable with the banks system and not make me want to cringe when I see the price.

I am 99% sure it will only be the REAR SECTION of the exhaust..muffler and tailpipe!..not the entire catback system!..If you look at the prices of the other systems they are considerably higher in price and basically the cat backs have the same componentry, adjustability etc between all the year models.Be very WARY on this because I think i remember hearing somthing like this long ago where someone thought he was getting the entire system from Summit at that price and ended up just getting the muffler section!

Wow that is cheap. That's the part number for the cat-back, not just the rear section but it's a little too good to be true. I'd call them to make sure it's not a typo or something.

Thunder Racing is cheapest I've seen at $599.

Well the part number is 14888 and that is for the entire cat-back not just the rear section. And, it does sound to good to be true. Thats why I am worried.

yes I know the 14888 is the correct part # ,but the price is the issue....too cheap IMO and I would not be suprised if you ended up with the rear section instead

when I bought my Borla, the pipes were all bent wrong. That was a $600 system too. #14888, I had to pay another $150 to have it all cut and re-welded to fit my car properly.....some quality parts right there.

Yes, I did ask for a refund and Borla basically told me to eat ----

I know some people have had better luck, but if they burn one of us, they burn us all.

DON'T BUY BORLA'S '82-'92 system.

I've heard it all, "just adjust the pipes" "blabity bla bla" I'm not an idiot, all of the intermeadiate sections pipes had the wrong bends in them. Borla doesn't even provide the part that meets the cat, thier 'cat-back' ends about where the end of the transmission is, not exactly a bolt-on in the first place.

Not only did they sell me a complete set of junk that costed me another $150 just to make FIT my car, it's an all together rip-off system. They offered nothing to fix the problem, nothing at all.

For $600 you can get a set of headers and even a whole cat back.

304 stainless will outlast every part of your car, so what's the point?

yeah what he said, the borla cat back isn't worth it. If you really like the adjusability, an exhaust shop should be able to fab one up for you fairly cheap compared to the Borla 14888 piece of crap.
