Mac or Hooker headers?

I am getting some headers, and am wondering which ones I should get (MAC or Hooker 2055's). If the GP is still going on for the mac headers the price will be comparable, and both are emissions legal. I know the hooker headers are good but I haven't heard much about the mac headers. Also, for about the same price the mac headers would be "coated" and the Hookers wouldn't be. Any information on these products would be appreciated.

It is a tough choice. They are both awesome headers and about the best yoiu can get for our cars. The emissions hookups on the macs are hardly noticable whereas the Hookers have the pattened air tubes everywhere. Bith have 1 5/8" primaries with a true 3" collector. The Macs seem to have a better y-pipe desing and less of a "T" style and more of a tre "Y". I only know this because my buddy is gonna get rid of his hokker 2055's for some macs for the reasons I just mentioned.

I did alot of searching today and read alot of good stuff about the mac headers so I went with them before the GP is over. I figure they will give about the same performance as the hookers, have better plug access, and come coated. I am not sure but it looks like the y-pipe may give better ground clearance too, which will be beneficial when I lower the car with the weight jack kit I am waiting for.

IMO I think the hooker y pipe is much better, and the mac's don't come coated, it's just paint. They both are good headers, and probably the 2 best out there, but I still think the design of the 2055 y pipe is better. Can't really go wrong either way. Also, looking at pics of the mac header ports and comparing them to the hooker ports I think the hookers have a better port design.

PS: I honestly don't think you could possibly improve on the 2055 y pipe at all. It's simply THE best design you can possible produce for our cars. Also, I cut off the air tubes and had them welded back up on my 2055's. the holes were small and easy to weld back up, but looking at the mac's it would be much harder to do this as the single tube size is much bigger leaving a gaping hole and the location where the tube meets the header would be hard to weld as well. This wouldn't matter though if you plan to keep the air system.

The 2055s are ... ok. The ball collector on the bottom of the headers is only about 2 and 1/8" wide so you'll have to open it up to 2.5" with a dremmel. Plug access is horrible and normal boots will hit the primaries. If you dont need it, **** can the air tubes because its a mess if you dont. I had macs on order 2 years ago and they (the *** damn factory!) dicked me around real hard about getting them made for *** knows what reason. Then they lied to me and said they were shipped when they didnt, so I got fed up and went with the 2055s because they were on sale at summit for $320. Id go with the MACs if you find them in stock.
