Pipe size?

Hi everyone, I was just wondering what size the pipe is from the catalyitc converter to the muffler on my 86 T/A with the engine code H? I don't have the car right now or else I would check. Is it 2.5inches or 2.25? I need to know so I can make a 3 inch reducer down to whatever the cat is.

Any info is appreciated,
Tony

so your going from a 3" pipe to a 2.25? That's really kinda a waste of time, you won't get anymore power. Might as well use a 2.25 all the way.

No you will still see gains. You are getting rid of the restrictive muffler for one thing.

would it be a safe assumption, to say that anything thats not stock as far as exhaust goes would be less restrictive? provided you use any pipe dia bigger then what the stock exhaust had.
