corsa exhaust is too loud
Hey guys, just bought a 92 B4C. It's got a mini rammed 383. Brand new Corsa 3" kit. Looks great, but it is so loud! I mean really loud. I'm thinking about just replacing the muffler, which one do you all suggest? And if anyone wants a nice looking really loud stainless muffler, let me know! Thanks!

It is a custom fitted 4th gen kit. Pretty nice job, but it's way too loud for me. My buddy has a 383 in an s-10 with dual 3inchers that is quieter. Thanks!

Too loud? I didn't know there was such a thing with a muffled exhaust system.

I agree with him, a loud exaust can be obnoxious, but unfortunatly, to keep 383 cubic inches of engine wisper quiet while only being minimally restrictive would require a muffler with gigantic internal volume and proportions. Low restriction exaust = increased noise. Not much to be done about that.

I disagree with you guys. Too loud is too loud. Corsas are like SlowMasters, they are chambered without packing and resonate at a certain RPM that becomes obnoxious. If it's a big motor moving a lot of air, you might loose a few HP, but try a Hooker muffler. Still plenty louder than stock, but not irritating.

I don't need it whisper quiet, but it honestly sounds like there is no muffler at all! The pipe is all mandrel bent stainless, so I think I'll just change the muffler. I say if it's too quiet-you're too hillbilly!
Dynomax/Walker would be your best bet. They're street/strip mufflers run quieter than the competition, and outflow it too
Granted they're not stainless, but you will not find a quiet, good flowing, stainless muffler. 2 out of 3 ain't bad
