Dynomax Race Bullet application and installation
I am somewhat interested in Dynomax's race bullet mufflers, but being a complete newcomer to the world of auto-mechanics, have no Idea whether they would work on a 91 RS L03, nor how they would be installed. What's your guy's impression of this muffler, and how exactly is it applied?

It's a race muffler. Not too bad at idle, but under any kind of power it's loud and crackles.
It's not intended for street/public road use. Not quite as bad if used with a cat, or used in place of a cat. But, by itself, it will be very loud (although free-flowing).

so the muffler itself would just weld into the place of the regular stock oem exhaust? or would it require some fabrication? will I still have dual lookingish exhaust, or will it be just one sided?
You should PM Revlimit. He is running true duals with two of those mufflers on his 84 drift car with a carb'd 350. It is LOUD man. He's having a hard time getting safety. Check out the Pacific Region forums, we're trying to set up a meet for all us Hawaii guys. Maybe come check it out and you can hear Revlimits car in person.

You can do it yourself it requires no welding you just use exhaust clamps. see my cardomain site i think thers a few good pics of my exhaust. and i can give you the part #s if you want.

Yea but on stock headers i think the pipe is only 2.25 the mufflers dont come in that size and it'll only be a single exhuast but you would still make a good amount more power then stock or a catback.

No you should make some more power with the exhuast you could make more if you had headers. Its gunna be a pretty nasty sounding exhuast should be real loud considering i had dual exhaust with them and could set off car alarms if they within like 10 ft so it might not be the best way to go i also couldnt hear the radio with it all the way up at only 700 rpms.

btw they only come in 2.5in im pretty sure the stock pipe size is only 2.25 so it wont work with the stock exhaust if the pipe size is to small.

that loud eh? hmm yeah from what you say it seems almost untolerably loud. So i would definately need a 2.5" pipe then to fit it? are there any form of adapter plates/ things to make it fit at all?
k so if i dont go the race bullet route, are flowmasters loud?

I just put on a dynomax bullet muffler
hey rs, try this setup out, it sounds killer on my 88 GTA. My stock cat crapped on me so i bout a CATco cat and bullet muffler for 160 shipped 2 day mail from summit. A local shop here in vegas replaced the cat and tore off the factory muffler with the dynomax bullet welded in its place with a turndown for $85. Im not sure what an RS's stock exhaust pipe size is, because mine was 3 inch stock out of the cat. Just giving you an idea though.
the bullets sound great. my brother has one on his firehawk. you can run it right after the cat and have a piece of pipe where the muffler sits so you maintain the 2 tips out the back, or you can run it like a regular setup without the muffler in the factory location, with 1 bullet on one side and 1 on the other and weld your tips right to the pack itself. have them hang right where the frame is on either side. i like my second idea the best
