GP : SLP Group Purchase - What products do you all want?

(To any mods : I spoke to Kevin regarding this, and he OK'd it - I'll send it to you for sticky once we flesh out what parts people want)

Hey guys,

Welp, as you may remember I set up a MAC group purchase several months ago, and now I set up another GP for some SLP parts! My dad's shop is going to get one going, but I figured I should ask you guys first what exhaust everyone is looking for, whether it be the Loudmouth, or the headers, or what not. I do not have all the details yet for you guys, but what i can tell you is that they are great discounts and we will need a minimum of 6 orders per part to get the special discount.

Link to old GP (for reference) - https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...hreadid=219691

If you guys are interested, post what everyone is looking for for their 3rd gen and I'll get you guys hooked up!

And again, if anyone is wondering NO i am not making money off this, and NO i'm not my dad, and NO i'm not getting anything for free - i'm just looking to get a good deal on exhaust the same as everyone else!

BTW - there shouldn't be any issues about backorders from SLP(as I admit there were a few w/ the MAC, and my dad does apoligize to everyone for their inconveniences)

Thanks guys,

Eric

Well here is the thing guys, there is no problem setting up GP for any exhaust part from SLP, but we need to organize and get AT LEAST 6 people for each item, but we can have many different parts as well. Oh, and we also get a bigger discount if we get 10 people together for these items

Ok so far we have interest in :

30001 & 30022- 1 3/4" Header System & Install Kit

Traviz - I beleive all their systems are 3", though I could be wrong (not uber-familiar w/ their products yet)

I'm planning on finally picking up an '89 RS 305TBI this weekend and I already have the SLP 3" cat-back exhaust (not loudmouth, just the standard dual-drivers-side exhaust) for it, but I'm looking for headers and a Y-pipe. Just got a new job and might get bumped to a position making a whopping $10.50 an hour (hey that's a lot for a high school kid), so I'll be in the market for some performance stuff. Was looking to do mostly suspension this summer, but if I can get a set of headers and a Y-pipe for cheap, I'm in.

1 3/4" w/o A.I.R. and the Y-pipe sounds good to me. It'll match the 3" SLP cat-back perfectly I'm going 1 3/4" early on because I plan to drop in a built 355 next spring

TraviZ - well no they don't come with cats, it just matters as to what intermediate piping comes with the kit

Single Cat. Do they also sell 3" cats? If so, I'll take that too. For the right price

Can you try and find a price for the 6-order and the 10-order deals for us? I guess I'll say single cat as well too...less money being spent on cats then

Single cat system here.

FWIW, I thought I read somewhere that SLP no longer offers the dual cat y-pipe option.

I might be interested in the HD posi and possibly 1 3/4" headers w/o air and y pipe if the price is good. Kind of in debt right now.

I would be interesed in the 1 5/8" Headers with Air and Y-Pipe and installation kit. I don't know the PN's.

I would also be interested in their cat back exhaust system.

All the parts would be for an 88 Iroc Conv't with 305 Auto.

Let me know when you get prices.

1 5/8" PN 30000, 30000C for the coated. You'll also need 30022.

I'll go for a set depending on price.

Ok guys here is the story : we can pretty much get anything for a good price we would need about 10-15 people total, depending on items ordered. Also, it depends on how many people order something we can get even better pricing. For example :

these are NOT the final prices, just using as an example

PN 30005 (1 3/4" headers w/o AIR): Retail $400, your price $339.95

PN 30000 (1 5/8" headers w/ AIR): Retail $500, your price $449.95

PN 65002 (HD Zexel-Torsen Diff): Retail $500, your price $449.95

Also, don't forget about the cat-backs that SLP offers as well! (They vary in year a great deal, so I didn't list any here )

Now, let's say we order 6 PN 30005's, 5 PN 30000's, and 3 PN 65002's, then we get the pricing. There are certain things which we can mix and match, such as different style cat-backs, but we can't do that with headers. This may seem like its getting complicated, but suffice to say, it looks like we have A LOT of interest, and there have been people e-mailing me left and right, so I think if we just set it up for those items (including install kits, of course) plus the diffs, we should be fine! Also, I didn't notice if anyone wanted ceramic coated headers? I'm personally going to get them, as are my buddies, so I would suggest that to everyone else as well.

We are making progress, pretty soon we are gonna put together a final list of people and then go from there! :lala:

Well the way it looks like is we need at least 2 orders per part number, but we need a lot of orders total, but from what i am told the discount could be upwards of 10% off retail, which is what i'm personally looking forward towards!

also, if we gather the necessary orders all together, then the shipping COULD be cheaper than the normal 40 bucks or whatever SLP rips you off for. In fact, the shipping will prolly be based solely on area, so most people will get charged less (some may get still teh 40 ) but who knows!

so what should i do? put together a little webpage to where we can allow everyone to select a product and then send over their info, then when we have enough, get it going?

any thoughts? i'm REALLY anxious to set this up cuz i want my stuff just as much as everyone else, so the more input we have, the faster we can get the parts shipped to my dad's warehouse and the faster they can get on the cars!

I may be in for the 30005. Can we get a price break on the 2OTL cat-backs, like the 31008 (87-89 TPI w/3" Cat)?

ok here is the deal, the pricing will be 10% off retail on whatever is ordered, and that goes for all the header systems, cat-backs, LSDs, etc.

that said, we will begin taking orders for this stuff, and i must stress that IF YOU DO NOT PLAN ON FOLLOWING THROUGH, DON'T SIGN UP!!!

i'm working on a small site as we speak where I can post all the info and then go from there - SLP works in groupings for SOME discounts, so will need a certain amount for a certain part number of headers, but cat-backs are of any kind! Which means we can order 3 of one kind, 2 of another and, 1 of a different kind, and they all grouped together and get the discount! (again, headers DO NOT qualify for this)

once i finish puttin this small site together to keep track of everything i will be making another post and it will be stickied, so pay attention to this thread for the announcement (so the server will automatically e-mail you or what not)

this is going to be a big deal guys and keep in mind EVERYTHING is up for GP so you could potentially buy a load of stuff for your car for ALL 10% off, but we need to rally everyone in on this. i'll keep you all posted once i finish a site and then i can get a list going of people interested and their parts

thanks again guys

eric

Hows that site coming? Depending on the amount of people in on cat-backs, I'll sign up. For now I'm just waiting on that site or word from you

look up the part for your car, note the price, then take 10% off of that and that is what you are looking at

BTW, which loudmouth fits our cars? i saw the loudmouths for the LT1/LS1 - are these the same as ours but with different install kit?

Yes. My buddy has one on his '97 Z28, and I have one sitting in my garage to go on my '88 Trans Am WS6 w/ 305TPI. Its actually a 305TBI setup I think, but the flange will fit on my 305TPI too, I already checked..

Bah I just realized you asked about 3" cats and not 3" cat-backs. No wonder why I thought it was a weird question to ask. That I do not know, I'm sorry.

yes the group purchase is still a go, and i am still working on the small site to accurately describe everything. however, the reason it is taking so long is because i had reviews all last week and finals this week, so suffice to say i am pretty stressed

regardless, i am going to try to finish the site on wednesday night and get it uploaded, and i will include the Loudmouth exhausts on the site as well, since it looks like these fit our cars as well from what people are saying

Unfotunately there will be no shipping international PERIOD (except maybe Canada, but contact DB Dragster for policies to Canada before you order anyway) - sending items to a a terrorist hotzone may bring unwanted atention from gov't agencies thinking "headers" means "Anthraz warhead"

I'm still working on the info site and the secure page where people can place their orders and get more information

i apologize for the delays everyone, but just sit tight and it WILL go through eventually

I see it's been nearly two months since the last post here. Any updates?

I'm interested in a set of 30005's.

Ya, those rims are sweet looking, wish I had the money for those, too

BUT, its too bad they only come in 8", if I'm gonna spend the money on a set of rims I think I'm going to go for some wider rears at least.

I just noticed it's free shipping too. That, with a 10% discount would not be bad at all!

How about this update

SLP has been out of stock on most of the headers all summer. I think the only ones they had in stock were the 1 5/8 with AIR. They have most in stock now BUT their was a pretty nice price increase. The uncoated 1 3/4" set I was looking at went up a $100 and are now $499. The coated version is $654 if I remember correctly.

I've been to their shop twice this summer since I was working nearby; called several times and have spoken with at least 4 different people about these and other things. Do you think anyone mentioned the price increase? Phuckers!

$100 isn't really that big a deal to me, just pissed me off that not one of the reps told me about this and said they expected them the first part of August and to just keep checking back.

NICE customer service. At this point SLP has pretty much lost not only a F-body customer, but a Tahoe and GTO customer as well.
