Edelbrock Headers

These any good for the L98's? I always figured they were nothing fancy and would choose a different company over them. If they are not good or whatever, any suggestions? Something that isn't too expensive but its the best bang for the buck.

I have Edelbrock headers, just used Mr. Gasket copperseal gaskets, never had a problem. The flanges are nice and thick, and all the bends are smooth and nicely sized, right down to the y pipe. Some guys on here hate them, but you can't argue with the cost vs quality. You get a nice header for the $. They'll do the trick for what you need, spending double won't get you a header "twice" as good.

I paid aroud $300 for mine about 12 years ago.Painted them with header paint. They are still in great condition.I have no negative things to say about mine. Some people on here dont like them because they are not large dia tubes or short tube design & maybe the neck down on the collectors. The fit is great & the improvement is xllt aswell.Cant complain

Did you paint them with header paint? If so, what did you use and is it still holding up well?

We carry the Hedmans for $239 to you guys (ceramic coated) y-pipe extra. No complaints yet, and most prefer the Hedmans by far over the Edelbrocks.

The Edelbrocks are ok I guess. They were a pain to install and I had to do some fabrication for my appliction. The left side was easy but the right side needed to be coaxed in. The AIR tube on the right side was facing forward instead of back so I had to cut it off ,extend it and turn it around the weld it. All in all they are ok but if I had it to do all over again I would look for a different brand.

you could have just use (2) 90* bent pcv connectors and routed it up and over the air tubed and turn in the opposite direction, that way you dont have to cut the tube and re-weld it.

I'm thinking hedman's too if I have another choice. But for now, Edelbrock works

Ya I could have done that and I thought about it, but I didn't want all that extra stuff to clutter my engine bay more than it allready is.

Originaly i used VHT,but theyve been repainted(twice at least) over the years.Ive also used DEI silicone paint(worked OK)& just recently(last week-after gasket change)i used a pepboys brand whose name i cant remember.Ive never removed the old layer though.Just lightly scuffed the surface with brillo or steel wool, then repainted.Dont know how many layers are on there now.

i have the edelbrock headers, pretty nice for the money but i wish i had spent more and gotten the ceramic coated set. my header paint did not last very long. make sure you get all the shipping paint off. i missed a few spots and it ended up ruining all the paint. instead of paint i'm having them Jet Hot coated this time.

Hey, We'll take care of that for you, $ 140 for the headers and $50 for the y-pipe. We have great feedback as far as our sponsorship and quality of our ceramic, polished coating!!!!
Thanks,
ACS Headers
