Your over axle pipe might be in the muffler crooked. Other than that try moving the whole tail pipe/muffler and see if anything's loose or you can adjust it easily. Car looks nice BTW. How do ya like the new setup??
thanks for the compliment um the setup is alright sounds pretty much the same as stock i thought i was gonna get a better sound but who knows maybe i did see if been driven with out a cat back for the past week lol so maybe thats why i cant feel an inprovment if anything though im just gonna take it to a shop get sumone to look at it see if i messed up or anything
hmm, Looks good, wonder if I should get it

i have a 91 l98 with hedmann headers a hi flow cat and hooker catback. It sounds real nice, it has gotten louder in time. highly recommend the exhaust.
hey l98 did u have a problem with the tips being sorta offset like mine or is mine a reject ?

i believe you may have installed the hanger(bracket) on the drivers side, incorrectly. try moving the bracket onto the back side of the rubber bushing instead of having it on the front of it.
thanks yeah i was wondering if that was the problem

mine are set perfectly, the only difference between mine and your is if you look from the top of mine you cant see the tips

Mine too, the tips are behind the rear bumper. Plus i got the 3.5" Chrome Slash-Back Tips from Hooker, which i like better.
If it ever STOPS raining in Michigan, maybe i can take some nice pics of the setup
As far as sound, i dont think your setup is messed up. Mine is quiet on idle as well, and thats with headers. But it really wakes up when u start pressing the gas. Plus mine are new, might get louder over time. Either way im very happy with the sound, i have my electric exhaust cut-out now whenever i feel like going loud
BTW your car looks nice, fix that tip issue and its gonna rock.

another happy hooker owner
where did you get that over the axle pipe hanger from? Did that come with the exhaust, or didyou do that yourself? I had to jerry-rig something till I could find something to hold it up. I basicly did what you did, only more ghetto looking!
I didnt have a problem with the crookedness. Try sliding the exhaust to the right (twars the pass side rear tire) and that might even it out. I recomend pushing the tips as far back behind the bumper so you dont burn yourself when you walk around.... quick FYI for ya!
All in all, it looks good.
and GTATransAm, I would love to see thoes pics! I kinda like the quad pipes, but something about 2 large chrome slant tips coming out just seem cooler to me. I hope with the headman headers and y pipe that I can pick up a bit more sound... that and the ZZ4 cam and heads!

the problem is the rubber mount on the passenger side is hard mounted while on the drivers side has a flimsey rubber mount that doesn't hold it in place.

Looks cool but you might want to turn those clamps 180* so the nuts are facing up. Just a thought

I really love my hooker cat back, I haven't had it above 3500 yet either. I had a hellava time installing it bacause I didn't have the right tools and I had to order it for a 305HO and my mounts in the back weren't the same. Here are some pics, not the best, but when it stops raining
I will get some more.
I will get some more.um it came with it lol but this weekend im gonna get it all welded up i got a little leak and yeah this is off topic and sorta bad but i was at a ford dealership today and they had 7 cobras all sc oh wow and see im 17 so ill never have one but who knows lol
how fast are you guys running that run this exhaust system? would you say that a 12 second car would be too much for the hooker catback?

The hooker muffler has a great sound. It has a deep throaty idle and isn't annoyingly loud. It sounds best after 3K rpm. Great sound Originally posted by devo3skt86
