Alternator brace?

Hey guys, you know how there are some black metal braces connected to the manifold bolts? For example I have an alternator brace and a power steering one both connecting to the first manifold bolt.

Do I have to reattach these? I dont see how I can, the bolts that came with my 2055's are small enough as it is! If I put those braces in front of the bolt, im lucky if it will screw in a half turn! Not to mention the headers are much thinner, would the braces even line up?

Thanks

Follow the directions that came with the 2055's. Cut off one leg, use the spacer between the header flange and the bracket with the original bolt (the spacer plus the flange will be the same thickness as the manifold was).

use a spacer, or use a long stud, tighen the header with a nut, then using another 2 nuts, sandwich the brace on the stud.

Thanks for the reply guys. I did read their directions, but some of the stuff in there is not necessary. But I actually didnt see anything in there about it Just wanted to make sure.

There should be three spacers that came with the headers correct?

just leave the "brace" off, it's not needed.

Mine had a picture on the back of the instructions showing what to cut. Took about 10 minutes or so, to cut it, and then smooth it out so it doesn't look like a hack job.

just to clarify, those cutting their braces do not have a serpentine setup.

Good point, I didn't even think to look at his setup.

To cut it, I used a cutting disc on our air compressor, the used a bench grinder to smooth it out so it didn't look like a hack job.
