Has anyone removed AIR tubes on Mac headers?

I have some mac headers on the way and I was wondering if anyone has removed or sealed the AIR tubes on a set of these.
If so, any tips?

thanks

The Mac's have just one large tube running between all 4 primaries on each side. It would take a large amount of weld to fill the hole and be pretty hard to reach the hole between the primaries, but I am sure it is possible.

Do these holes leak if left unplugged?

I dont know. I dont have the headers yet. They are on the way. They very well could come sealed. I just wondered what I was going to be up against as far as removing them. They just have one big tube that goes into each header rather than multiple. Similar to the hooker design.

Im curious if they leak because I bought A.I.R. equipped headers and thought against having air and ditched the AIR system and the cat. I put my hand over them and they don't seem to leak but hell if I know when I let on the car. Anyone know anything about these? Mine are SLP.

hey pasky How much of the air system is still hooked up? Its been a while since i messed with AIR tubes but it seems to me there would have to be a check valve of some sort to keep the exhaust gases from shooting up the tubes and into the smog pump and AIR system. If that big mess of tubes and stuff is all hooked up still that would explain why nothing is shooting out of them. THey are still probably better off capped but the check valve would explain why you didnt nuke your hand.

Ummm nope, I have no AIR system whatsoever, just the headers in the bay unplugged looking straight up and it doesn't feel like any air comes out whatsoever.

Well it was a good theory anyway. I have no idea why no air would come out of them. Hope sombody else chimes in.
was the car running when you checked?
just kidding

Haha, of course it was. Im thinking maybe their is so much flow going down the headers nothing does come back up.

If that were the case they would pull a pretty good vaccum. And the air coming in would probably whack the O2 sensor out pretty bad.

Stick a sock in the tailpipe and we will know for sure if they are sealed or not.
