Heard good and bad from catco owners...but they are cheap so that is a +. I went with a carsound cat from magnaflow and I really like it. Try a search, I am sure you will find more info.

I know, I've done the searches... I was just wondering about the particular unit that I bought...

Somehow that doesn't look like 3" inlet/outlet to me. Is that what you got?

Having purchased one of those units (Catco 3" inlet/outlet universal), I regret it and wouldn't recommend it. If you are going with 2055 headers, get a Catco 9118 direct-fit for '86-'90 TPI single cat application.

Yeah, I purchased that one on ebay about an hour ago. It's already paid for through paypal. I read about some other people that had no problems with them so I figured that it was worth a shot.

What kinds of problems did you run into?

A lot of the time they use the same picture for all thier auctions, he states its a 3" in by 3" out and too look at his other auctions for the 2 1/2 inch. Its common on ebay

Good deal. I got my carsound cat on ebay for the same price. I have had no problems with it. I just took it down to the shop for them to install and weld it that way I dont have to mess around with trying to put flanges on it and stuff.

The direct fit will "fit directly". The universal will require fabrication to get it into the system. It will fit onto the y-pipe, but it won't reach to the cat-back.

Take it to a shop to get it installed, and you'll likely spend more than what you saved getting the universal vs. the direct fit. Unless you "know" somebody, of course.

I'd still take a direct fit over the typical hack fab job you get from a muffler shop.

In that case, I may just have to put it back up on ebay and buy a direct fit instead. I refuse to be beaten by something so dumb.

I posted it in the classified section if anyone is interested in it. I will sell it for less than they guy sold it to me for.

If I don't get a bite there, I will put it back on ebay.
