AIR tubes on headers, cut em or leave em?

seeing how i have no emissions controls on my car at all....i have been playing with the idea of cutting the AIR tubes off of my headers. was wondering if this would be worth the trouble of pulling the headers off, cutting them and having them welded.

they look as though they would disrupt airflow a good bit but i havent heard of anyone doing this and getting anything out of it other than a cleaner looking header....no hp increase

The air tubes on my headers are welded shut. It looks kind of crappy because they didnt cut off the tubes they just welded the top of them shut.

I agree though I dont think they would do much more than look cleaner.

yeah, i have no welder so itll cost me to have them welded shut, and itll look sloppy......might be more of a chance for the weld to break and the headers leak. not sure though....never actually seen it done.

If you are worried about them you could always pull them and at least grind the part down that sticks into the primary.
