Best headers for a 305?

Best headers for a 305?

Hey guys I have no idea what headers to get

Im running a stock 305 roller block in a 89 formy

looking for good performance and good sound, also would like to make it decently good for a 350 should i drop one in later

Transmission: 4L80E/4L80E
Axle/Gears: 12B-3.73/9"-3.89
The best headers would be ones intended for the '86-'90 TPI single-cat application with a y-pipe. 305 or 350 doesn't really make much difference.

I like the Hooker 2055's. A couple of nits, but overall high quality stuff, especially the y-pipe (a weakness, it seems, with all other headers available).

BTW, headers don't vary much with regard to exhaust note. That's affected a lot more by what happens from the cat on back.

I have the SLP headers/Y-pipe and i think that SLP makes a pretty decent Y-pipe.

SLP also costs a pretty penny.

You get what you pay for with hedders so save up. Don't waste your time with dynomax or flowtechs. I made that mistake. You cannot go wrong with the Hooker 2055's, mac's (Y-pipe on par with the 2055's), hedmans, or SLP's.
