how much power do you think i will loose...
i am going to replace my exhuast cause i am tired of the way i have it setup. it's way too close to fuel lines in some areas and the car is just way too loud! i am also tired of getting hassled by the local authorities. i currently have:
Hedman LongTubes w/ true duals and moroso spiral race mufflers
i am going to:
Hooker 2460's (coated by acs...yeah!) to a custom dual2 1/2" 3" out y pipe with a flowmaster y piece and then a flowmaster force II catback with the single in single out 3" pipe.
i have heard of some insane numbers with this exhuast and i am not doubting it's abilty to flow, however i do expect a slight drop in performance do to the definite superior exhaust of the true duals vs. single.
what types of drops should i expect. i am making about 350hp at the crank with my 305 right now. i have posted specs several times and they are on my cardomain site...

Any particular reason for the 2460's and all the custom fabrication? You could probably get the 2055's with their sweet y-pipe and spend less money in the end. The 2460's are also a larger gage tube wall, so with the same 1-5/8" primary OD, the 2460's will have a smaller ID than the 2055's.
I doubt you're going to lose any power. You're over-exhausted right now. There may be a minor shift in the powerband, though.

id say "i told ya so" but thatd be cruel.
if you honestly worry that it'll slow down, you could run dual electric cutouts behind the headers, then have it Y back into a normal catback (connecting in the I pipe like shown above)

hmmmm...can't remember you telling me so before MrDude1, but it doesn't mean it didn't happen.
why the 2460's? cause i already bought them coated from acs for @$240. and i can get a y-pipe fabbed up for only another $100. that's $340 plus some shipping...that's less than a set of coated 2055's. plus i have a few really nice exhaust shops in my area whom i trust will do this right.
oh, i can't run cutout's in the class i run in for the NSCA. not too worried about loosing some power, just want to know what i can expect. cause i can compensate some where else.
why not build a y for the long tubes? cause i want to get the heat away from the tranny...i already burnt one up, don't know if it had to do with heat soak or not, but i don't want to take anychances.

The pictured y-pipe isn't going to significatly contribute to transmission heat. If transmission heat is an issue: 1) add a(nother) cooler and/or deeper pan; 2) use AMSOIL synthetic ATF.
Did you include the cost of the Flowmaster Y in your $100? Regardless, don't let previous/partially-completed actions dictate what you're going to live with in the long-term.

My headers have been there for about 9 months now and I have not had any problem with the tranny or anything else other than the occasional speed bump and most of those are not a problem.

great to hear...car runs 13's right now and i don't want to bump down to 14's that all. i also think the tone will be better...i also chose the 2460's cause of the collector style. i am also doing this cause of a better tone quality.
so should i go with a flowmaster force II or a hooker catback?
