sound and performance

about a month ago i had 2.5 inch pipe run and a v force muffler it was suppost to be kinda the same thing as a flowmaster as i was told... its not very loud like i was wanting it i didnt want it really loud thought just a nice sound b/c when i bought the car it had nothing after the cat so the 2.5pipe and the v force was just a cheap something to get it passed insepections and everything well i if i go back he will cut the cat and run 3 inch pipe were the 2.5 is for 100 of do u think its the muffler that is making it quiet or something else any suggestions would be greatly appricated

The small stock y-pipe and cat size is making your exhaust quiet. Removing the cat will greatly increase the sound. It will also decrease your legallity.
