cutout question (leaking)
Right now I have an electronic cutout plate right after the Y pipe behind my headers. when it's closed I can hear it leaking. Not from inside the car, but if I step out side the car on the passenger side I can hear it. It's not real loud, but it's there.
Right now the cutout plate is the last thing on the cutout. I wonder if I were to run a pipe from that cutout plate back and dump it right before the rear axle, would the leak sound still be heard?
I wonder if having an extra 3 or 4 feet of pipe after the cutout plate would let the leak sound bounce around in the pipe and get drowned out? The leak sound would also be exiting closer to the rest of the exhaust (rear of the car) and that might also drown out the leak sound.
Anyone done this before? did it fix the leak sound?
Another question, how much would the open cutout sound change if there were 3 or 4 more feet of pipe added to it after the cutout plate? I like the sound it has now, and I assume it will change with more pipe on there, right?
