Header question

I have an 83 z28 with a 383 and a 7qt oil pan. headers listed for a stock 305 will not clear the oil pan. any body know of a set that will clear the deep pan?

thanks

The headers don't clear?..... or the y-pipe doesn't clear?

Shorty style headers might be your only option with a custom y-pipe to go around the wider deaper pan.

The headers them self won't clear the pan. one of the headers turns right in to the oil pan. with the stock pan the header would connect to the y-pipe and tuck under the pan. snice the 7qt is much deeper it gets in the way. The headers i have are shorys.

Well I guess the next step would be custom headers.

heat them and bend them out to make room. Ive seen that done on other cars before.

full lengths and a custom y-pipe will be your best bet......Check out Mufflex's website they are known for their systems for f-bodies.... Hope this helps.....
