Need a more quiet exhaust.....
The problem is my combo isn't very conducive to a quite exhaust note. I don't want it totally silent, maybe a little louder than stock would be nice.
LPE 211/219 cam, ported heads, hooker 2055 headers, no cat, flowmaster 80 muffler. Yeah, I know its a combo just begging to scream. But what mufflers can I swap the flowmaster out for a more quiet ride that still flows nice.
I had a friend tell me he could hear my car cruising when it was well over a mile down the road at night. Hell, he was able to tell me when I was stopped at a light, and when I hit the highway about 2 miles from his house!!
Thats way too loud in my opinion. I am considering a hooker aerochamber exhaust, or a gale banks muffler. Anyone else have recomendations?

The Banks is pretty damn loud in my opinion. I like mine, but wouldn't want to drive it all the time. I think my car is more annoying to the neighbors than my diesel pickup with no muffler or cat.
I hear that a good high flow cat will quiet a car down quite a bit with out hurting performance much. Might want to check that out.

Look into the Dynomax SuperTurbo systems, it's louder than stock but still sounds good and flows good too, and has dual 2 1/2" tail pipes that tuck up under the car, that's what I had before I got a Spintech system, now the Spintech is WAY to loud for me too and I'm going back the the Dynomax.

My car just sounds a little odd though. I have some leaks around the headers that are adding to the noise. I need to get those sorted out.

Hopefully I'll have a video clip with good sound tomorow. Maybe someone can pinpoint something thats odd about it.
I like the sound of the hooker Aerochamber muffler. I just need something quieter. I do want to put a cat back on the car, I know it'll help with the sound.
