High Flow Cats

I have a Dynomax Exhaust....pretty big 3 inch pipe (on a V6)

Would a high flow cat make a big difference in sound and power?

Since the out pipe is 3 inch does that mean I need the all around 3 inch cat?

Is it true they make your sensors go haywire?

what sensors? only one i think of is the o2, and it may be a little off by disconnecting the cat, but not by adding a high flow.

removing the cats from our third gens does not trip any sensors, nor does having a high flow cat. unless of course you did an engine swap with obd2 compliant f.i. system. i have a dynomax high flow on my car, don't know if it made it any louder because i installed it with my BLOWMASTER exhaust.

Apparently, the reduced back pressure (yes, that's what I said) can have a negative effect on a positive pressure type EGR valve. If that particular model has a monitor for EGR function, a code can be set because the EGR isn't opening properly. The fix is to replace the EGR valve with a negative pressure type (i.e., "normal" aftermarket) valve. Doesn't happen everytime, but has been reported.

Is it worth the 120$ plus whatever it costs to get done?
