I know where to get headers but what about the other piping?

I plan on picking up hooker 2055 headers from jet-hot and have them coated and I have a 3" flowmaster 80 series with tail pipes. i plan on getting a direct fit 3" cat for after the headers but where do i pick up the pipe between the headers and the muffler? Can i get that seperately or do i need to buy a full catback exhaust? thanks.

The 2055's have a pipe from the collector on each side to the cat - called the y-pipe. A '86-'90 TPI single cat direct fit inlet will fit the y-pipe outlet. You can buy an intermediate pipe that goes between the cat outlet and muffler, but it's usually easier to just get a cat back for the same application.

Where would you go to get the intermediate pipe? I have the same question. I'm going to begin on my header swap tomorrow and I'm not too worried about reducing the size to whatever it is stock (2.5, 2.25?..something like that) until my new engine is finished, but I've been wondering if there is a way around buying a bunch of elbows and welding them together.

http://www.dynomax.com/documents/pas...ral_motors.pdf , page 3. Dynomax part #'s 44063 & 43248.

The two will cost you about $130 from Summit (you have to do a Summit Part # search with prefix "WLK-"). They appear to be in stock.

Oh, don't miss this little Summit note: "The part has an additional shipping charge."
