Flowmaster 40 or delta 40's?

Hey all...I don't have a Camaro, but I do have a 1990 Vette with the 350TPI. Right now I don't have any cats. I also have a set of Hooker long tube headers. I want a LOUD exhaust that is DEEP. I had muffler eliminators, but they were too raspy and I hated the burble/backfire that they caused when I got off the throttle. They also sounded too tinny (a la *****-ish).

I have Delta flow 50 series on mine now. They are very deep, but also very mellow. I'm looking at one of two choices:

Flowmaster 40 series

or

Flowmaster delta flow 40 series.

Anyone have any opinions? Like if the 40 series are deep, or if they are raspy? What about the delta flows, are they too quiet? Deeper? Basically I want the deepest sounding exhaust, but also want it to be loud.

Thanks!

-Dave

Have you checked into the Flowmaster Super 40s?

From my experience, 40s are pretty 'tinny' sounding, but it does seem to vary with exhaust setup, engine, etc.

Yeah, I replaced the motor last winter. I don't think the parents would let me yank it out while it's running perfectly fine to put a cam in.
