what headers should i use?

hey yall f body fans i have a tech question. if yall could answer it i would greately appreciate it. i am 16 years old and my first car is a 1986 camaro originally equipped with the 305 LG4 carbed motor. now my question is which headers should i get if i want to get max performance but keep the emissions on the car, the edelbrock TES or the Hedmad Tork Stepped? does it matter if i plug the tubes the from the AIR if i but the non AIR headers? i would prefer the non AIR tube headers but do not want to distort or messup any emissions on the car? any that could help i would really appreciate it.

it seems that everyone likes the hooker 2055 headers. i'm know that yall have more experience than i do being only 16. are the 2055 AIR tube headers or non? when i saw the hedman tork stepped headers i thought that they are very good design. do any of you have comments on the hedman tork stepped? thanks alot guys i really am using all this help to make my f body represent what v8 power is all about!

Had you followed instructions, you would know the answer to that question.

No personal experience, but the concept of smaller to larger stepped primaries is typically to improve mid-RPM torque on mildly modified engines. If you want more higher RPM power, go for 1-5/8" primaries.

Another topic addressed regularly that would be answered with a little research.

the hooker 2055 headers

hey i found and researched the hooker 2055 headers. i have found a problem which i have run across before. i have the LG4 setup which is a carbed motor. the 2055 headers are meant for the TPI motors. i would still like to use them but a piece of the AIR tube is turned 180 degrees from where it needs to be. i have circled it in the pic. do you think i should purchase these headers and cut the piece off the weld it back on the other way? i have included an attachment of the cirled part on the headers.

The headers will still work. You can fab the air up the way you mentiuoned or you can buy a bunch of hose and turns and re-direct it the way you need to. I believe five7 did it this way. I could be wrong.
