Vette heads w/ headers

Hi guys,

I am in the process of a motor swap. I am putting in a 91 corvette L98 with the aluminum vette heads. These heads have the slight angled plugs on them. Will I have issues if I were to buy SLP 1 3/4 shorties? It says on the description for them that they may have problems with some aftermarket angled plug heads.

So my question is, is anyone running the corvette heads with these headers on a thirdgen? Someone has to be on here to awnser this for me.

If I cant go 1 3/4 then I was going to go with the hooker 2055's 1 5/8's, but I would like the bigger headers if possible with the vette heads.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think the SLP headers all clear the plugs on L98 Vette heads. Routing the wires not to burn may be another story.

Well, if the headers do fit, then plug wires should be less of a problem than with straight plug heads I would think. Thats because the plugs on 'angle plug' heads are pointed towards the exhaust valve. That means the end of the plug that has a plug wire on it is angled away from the header tube, making the wires farther away from the tube as well.

my edelbrocks fit great on my iron heads, then when i swapped they fit just as good or better. the 113 casting L98 heads also have the exhaust ports located .100" higher than standard iron heads, this was not a problem for me either. the plugs are angled away from header primaries anyway so you shouldnt have any issues.

Now since these are 'D' port heads, will I need different gaskets than the ones SLP sent me with the 1 3/4 headers?
