Strange problem removing headers

Are the collectors bolted to the exhaust, or welded? Some guys do weld them. I wouldn't, but some do.

Exhaust-related bolts are also notorious for rusting up and getting REALLY badly stuck together. Might just need some penetrating oil and muscle to get them out.

Engine: 383 stealth ram, 305 tpi, 350 tbi, 5.3l
Transmission: T56, 700r4, 700r4, 4l460
try heating up the bolts before taking them off or you can spray wd-40 on them and let it sit for a bit.

They are bolted, but I don't see how I can get them off, there just isn't clearance for a wrench, socket or anything to get in their.

are you talking about the bolts that go on the heads or the bolts to the y-pipe. it sounds like you are talking about the y-pipe cause you get thoese bolts from underneth the car. as far as the manifold to the head it all depends.

Go from under the car, and use extentions... I got my manifold bolts out that way.
