i got some new hedman hedders and i realize i need to put in a 02 sensor bung...but the thing is, come to think about it, i don't remember taking one out of my old headers....which wouldn't surprise me because it didn't have any kind of intake sensor or the right computer either...question is, should there be an o2 sensor in both headers? they are long tubes and i'm gonna be running duals with an h pipe...also where should i put the sensor/sensors....

There is only one in the driver side header, and you need to put it in the driver side collector, you can order O2 sensor bungs from jegs if you need it.

you think autozone or somebody locally sells the bung? beacsue the motor is going in this weekend...well i guess i can install it after the motor is in too....also, i hear guys talking about how you should put a heated sensor in if you have LT headers because otherwise it won't get hot enough and throw a false reading or something....anybody have any insight on this?

No they wont have one, I tried that already, you can however get a non fouler for some kind of jeep, and cut the small end off and its the same thread size, you could try napa maybe.

You should, but i think people switch over to the heated units because you can get better feed back from them when tuning, then again, i may be way off.

yea that makes sense....anybody that has some more insight on this feel free to post....and if i should get a heated unit, let me know what one to get...

I bought a wiring harness from him to make a heated o2 sensor work in a car that would normally use a non-heated sensor. He's got some good info on here,too. A lot of GM numbers charts and such. If you still have your single wire for your o2 sensor, he makes a wiring harness to convert over to a heated sensor. Easy to hook up, too.

so i can just buy the the thing where it says heated o2 sensor for 75 bucks then buy the adapter for 20 bucks...thats a good deal then....thats all i gotta do to make it all work right?

Yes that's all you have to do to make it work, that is provided you still have your single wire plug. Easy to follow instructions, too.

So then what really is the advantage for installing a heated O2 sensor?

because i have long tube headers for my car, and alot of people have problems with putting a stock o2 sensor in the collectors of LT's because they hardly reach the required temp which is i believe 600 degrees for the o2 sensor to just turn on...with a heated sensor, it'll become active a lot earlier and it'll give your computer a better feedback....i think thats what i'm gonna do tho, order those 2 items...i'll have to go look to make sure i still have the wire there for it...

ok guys, i actually found my o2 sensor laying in a pile of crap....however, its not 3 wire like i thought, it is just a 1 wire...i looked at that website, they have a 1 wire o2 sensor for 35 bucks, but its not heated...what you guys suggest I do? i want to get a heated one so i can get better feedback, is there like a adapter kit to switch it from a 1 wire to 3 wire, or maybe a 1 wire heated o2 sensor and wiring harness??

Go to the above website in my previous post and click on "shop online" then click on TPI parts,Sensors, scroll down and you'll find the adapter wiring harness. It's the 5th item down for $19.95. Then you'll have to get a heated O2 sensor.
