Header Question
I have a set off of a 1978 Z28. It was a 350 (probably not specific enough).
My question is will these bolt right up to my 1991 L98 (Vette)?
With a little work could it be done? or are they just a throw away?
It would just be temporary until I could get the money together for a good set of Shorties...
The way things are now, every couple of weeks I have to tighten my manifold (I think they are too restrictive for the power running through, and its causing them to come loose).
Thoughts?
Thanks.
This is 3rd gen related...The engine is in my 91Z.

The headers will certainly bolt up to the engine. The only question is whether they'll bolt up while the engine is in the car. Most likely they won't, but you could always try.
The manifold bolts aren't loosening because of excess back pressure. The bolts are loosening up because they aren't holding properly.

I guess they are not holding properly. But what would cause that? I have had to retighten 'x' number of times in the last year...
I don't think this is a common problem? Do I need to replace some hardware, the bolts themselves? Obviously you won't know the condition, and I guess I won't until I pull them right out. Is it possible that they have become stripped?
Headers, I didn't think I could do with the engine in, but I wouldn't want to pull only to find out that they don't bolt up.
Thanks for the answer.

i have 2nd gen F-body Longtube headers on my '82.
they fit but the collectors are a little long. you will need to unbolt the engine mounts and jack the engine up a few inches for them to drop in.
i will be getting mine welded together this weekend, TD 2.5" pipes, H pipe and 2 FM 40's...
