Question.
Ugh, after a long day finishing up putting my rebuilt engine back together in the car, we start it up only to find out that the drivers side header was leaking. I bought the headers from a 3go member, they are heddman headers, long tubes, painted black. I cut 2 places between the middle and outer tubes, then used 2 gaskets(fel pro) from the parts store. The outer 2 have sealed, but the middle is just warped badly it seems. I am using ARP 12pnt header bolts, I searched around the site for awhile, but still confused for whatever reason, maybe been in the sun too long. Thanks for any help!

What exactly did you cut? How bad are they warped? Sitting in the sun didn't warp them. Chances are you were sold a poorly made set.

Yes, I was in the sun too much hehe. Bad thing about doing an engine swap in the yard, get alot of exposure, few things went bad when we put the engine back in. Chalk it up to experience and luck. Heres a chopped up pic I stole from the Summit site, these are not my headers, but just to show where Ive cut them at. I cut the 2 pieces to get more torque/pressure on each individual port, it helped seal the 2 outer ports, but the middle is still off. I also used 2 sets of gaskets on them. Looking to see if I can fix them somehow with them still on the car, so far Ive gotten some ideas on maybe a few more washers for more pressure, or some of that copper sealant/RTV type stuff. If not I'll have to take them off and have them smoothed/evened out at a machine shop? Thanks for the help! Heres the pic.

Simple question, should I just take the header to a machine shop and have them even the tubes out? Or de-warp if thats possible?
