All SLP headers come coated now??

I am trying to buy a set of un-coated 1 3/4" non AIR SLP headers and a few places have told me that they no longer come uncoated. I want to have them coated elsewhere because I have heard from reliable sources that their coating is too thin and won't last. Can anyone suggest another vender that may have a few sets of uncoated headers laying around?

I bought mine about two months ago from Thunder Racing. Have you tried them yet? I bought 1 3/4 w/o air too.

Thunder Racing was the first vender to tell me that you can't get them uncoated anymore

Is the price still the same as all the coated ones?

Call SLP and see if they offer em uncoated direct.

SLP direct is back ordered and the difference between coated and uncoated between venders is up to $200. I found one place that had some uncoated AIR headers for $400 shipped. Their Non AIR headers were like $370 which is about as cheap as you can get. If I buy from SLP I won't walk away with a deal less than $650.

Looks like they did drop the uncoated headers, they dont seem to have the 93-97 headers uncoated any more in the online catalog, oh well there goes SLP as an option for me. Or any of my friends cars I build for that matter.

Looks like i'll be fabricating my own.

Do you think by chance they upgraded their coating? It doesn't seem very smart to me to sell all your headers with a cruddy coating. SLP drives me nuts.

Doesnt matter to me, as with any LT1 swap I do i'd need them bare, at minimum to add the EGR hookup on the #8 primary, paying for coating to sandblast it all off just isnt going to happen. Also someone with a full visual would also need a inlet on the #1 and 2 primaries, again not paying a small fortune extra for coating to be removed.
