Catco
Catco 9118 I believe is the 3" direct fit single cat for TPI. I think it is $127 from summit.

The universal fit cats are like 12" long, the stock cat in my TPI was maybe 20" long. Universals will take some fabbing to get them installed I believe. I have magnaflow cats on my car and they get the job done.
I'm planning on going 3" in/out with a magnaflow 1-in 2-out muffler and the piping custom mandrel bent. So length doesn't matter, I just want to know why there are so many different universal cats and which one I should get.

try thunder racing, the random tech cats are a bit pricey compared to some others, but many places say they are THE best flowing cats you can get. and of course ... you usually get what you pay for... i bought a magnaflow cat to go into my random tech cat-back and i'm gonna have to fab all kinds of s**t to get it to fit ... i really wanted the random cat to begin with but i passed them up because of price and money issues .... which i now regret. here's a link to thunder racing and the random tech cats :
