Do 4th gen Y-pipes fit?

Does anyone know if a y-pipe from a 4th gen. camaro/firebird would fit on our cars?

The y-pipes in the 4th gen cars look like they would flow much better than the crappy T shaped ones installed in 3rd gens.

It might be close, but you will most likely end up having to cut and re-weld somewhere.

and then some more.
the flanges on the pipes are different, not to mention the floorpan, and the routing of the pipes.
im not saying it wont fit, you can make anything work.
something custom would flow better and is less of a hassle, IMO.

Plenty of good flowing aftermarket Y-Pipes for our third gens if I understand your question correctly. The factory 3rd gen Y pipe does cost some horsepower.

if you wanna go a cheap route, install a "Y" collector where the 2 pipes come together. thats the most restrictive point. my stock TPI y was 2 3/4 bent pipe. it wasnt too terrible.

Re: Do 4th gen Y-pipes fit?

I was going to give this shot myself. Did a search and found this. Only reason why I want to use the 4th gen y pipe is because I have one here from my brothers 4th gen.
