unclog exaust

how do i unclog my exaust. it is completly full of black stuff. i have no cat and i went to go get emmisions checked ( i know i would have failed any ways and i found out it had no cat aftwards) and they couldnt take the test becasue of low flow rate and every tie he tried to stick the sensor in the exaust it would come out with black stuff all over it and some would fall out of the exaust

Is your car running rich or is your exhaust really clogged? Every exhaust system will have a layer of carbon on the inside. Are you sure your system just isn't rotted and peeling away? $30 won't get you much. Your best bet would be to find a used exhaust off of another 3rd gen. You really should find out why your car didn't pass. Find out why it is not running the way it should be. Chances are the exhaust is not your first problem that you need to be solving.

You may have a clogged cat but exhaust pipes just don't clog. I would look into replacing the cat.
