i like that thats pretty good ill have to remember that

hedman sells a y for 100 but it ends in 2.5" you might be better off getting one made at a shop
then again there is always the hope that helps

Okay, I guess that wasn't nice.

3rd gen header basics, again:

1) Nobody makes headers for us that exit at the same location the factory manifolds do.
2) Since 1) is true, everybody exits wherever they want, so either a) you use their y-pipe, if they make one, or b) you have a shop or someone with pipe manipulating capability fabricate one for you.
3) Also since 1) is true, everybody who makes headers for us uses their own type of collector connection, which takes you back to 2) a & b.

That's why people buy the emissions-compatible Hooker, Hedman, Pacesetter, or Edelbrock TES headers as well.

And why some people buy the aforementioned Hedman headers & separate y-pipe.

Hooker is the only y-pipe that is 3" minimum after the two banks join.

They have a 3" exit, but they aren't 3" before that.

yeah im getting quotes for about 250-350 for a 3 inch y. Think that's a little much???

or should i just buy the Hedman y pipe, and then where the two pipes meet, make that 3 inches??

yeah i think that is going to be what im going to do.because 2 1/2 inches in PLENTY for half the engine. and then to go into a 3 inch collector/Cat/exhaust should be great.
