Ok well the bylaw and RCMP dont seem to like the idea of running a 350 straight of the headers or 2.5" lakers so i need to do something with it.
Heres what im thinking, Im not looking to spend a million dollars on an exhaust but dont want to waste my money on junk. As their is no more shops up here that do custom exhaust im left with not many options.
I currently have a set of hedman long tubes on the car but with the road conditions up here i need as much clearance as possible so a homejobby dual wont work too well. So im looking to put something in the stock exhaust locations.
Heres what im thinking:
Headers: Hedman shortties #68470
Y Pipe: Hedman #17470
Catback: Flowmaster #17233
And i should be able to fab up something to go from ypipe to the flowmaster pipe as i have no cat and dont plan on using one.
You views/suggestions on this?
Edit: Prices so far look to be 239.99 for headers,178.48 fo the Y and 659.22 for the flowmaster kit which totals $1077.69
I may get a bit cheaper pricing elsewhere in town but proboably not a big difference.
Edit: got some "in town" prices. looking at 219.76,164.71,516.77 for a total of $901.24
Oh and last but not least i do plan on a blower next summer will this be enough to handle a blown 350?

Only problem I see (especially with a blower), is that that ypipe goes into a single 2.5" pipe before the cat. Some on this board have modded that to 3", which would be advised. Then run a 3" in and out cat.
On another note, I noticed in your sig it says 'Never forget the camaro'. The other day I was buying a part for my Z28 at Autozone, and they asked 'What car?'. I replied 'Camaro'. He said 'what kind of car is that?' Has the camaro been gone that long already?

Its coming back for 2009- I think someone showed me the actual press release but it may have just been hearsay.
that is the set up i have minus the flowmater catback, the headers you can get from summit or jegs for half that price. and if you look at the classifieds you can probley get them cheeper from someone in here. i got my headers off this sight for almost nothing and they were brand new. they y pipe is 120 i think from jegs. and i had my local exhaust shop do the rest for 250. minus muffler witch i had. and on the y pipe just have the muffler shop cut off the end were it goes to 2.5 and weld in the 3inch. that is how i did mine

im running shorty headers, with a y-pipe that was bought fit for my car, and a flow master muffler with 2 3" boom tubes out the back.
the headers, exhaust, muffler, chrome tips, with installation came to 700$ canadian.
here is a video of my car with my g/f driving. sounds alright, transmission is slipping and downshifts on its own, so dont mind that. lol.

for a blown 350, i would look into a better muffler than the flowmaster. its not the best flowing muffler and will hold you back on power
3inch should support a blown 350 as long as the muffler used it high flowing, like a dynomax ultra flo round muffler
3.5 inch would probly be best tho....
and is the hedman ypipe 2.5 inches? i got hooker headers and the ypipe and its 3inch at outlet to the cat
just get a stock cat and gut it all the way out... punch a hole thru it and bolt it in. that will take care of the no pipe section from the y pipe to the flowmaster kit

I will be modding the collector on the y pipe to 3" and their will be no cat so its 3" from the y straight back.
So i guess i would be better not to get the flowmaster kit and piece an exhaust together?
Who sells pieces already bent up? (int pipe, axle pipe & whatnot)

I'm running the exact setup except i'm using a magnaflow(carsound) 3" cat and I had a custom Y replace the crappy hedman one to make it a 3 incher.
Overall, I'm very happy with it. Sounds awesome. Always get compliments, but I have to be honest. I think it's holding my engine setup back. Nevermind a blown 350.
I don't think shorties/3"/crossflow muffler is the ideal setup for power.

Hooker Headers HOK-2055HKR 389.95
Dynomax 3" Intermediate Pipe WLK-44063 91.99
Dynomax 3" Overaxle Pipe WLK-43248 54.39
Dynomax Race Magnum Bullet Muffler WLK-24222 39.95
Dynomax Universal 3" Tailpipe WLK-44279 39.69
Total 624.92 Shipped
This will flow great and sound awesome if you like a loud*** bassy performance sound. But CATUION this will be very loud without a cat!!!!!!! But if you go the Flowmaster rout I recommend
Hooker Headers HOK-2055HKR 389.95
Flowmaster American Thunder Exhaust Systems FLO-17233 335.95
New total 734.85 Shipped
EDIT: I saw where you wrote about adding a blower might want to look into Hooker Long Tubes and Mufflex Performance 4” Exhaust. The above exhaust I posted would become restrictive probably around 400hp range.

Just a note if your reccomending headers...
This car will probably kill an emissions machine if it was ever hooked up to one. Their is no air pump or cats and i dont plan on putting one on either. I know you can just cap air fittings but it looks like crap IMO...
I would like to just keep these long tube headers i have on the car already, what are my options here?
I dont think the dual 2 1/4" would be that bad and its only about $300. Ill have to double check the site because i believe i need shorties for that system.

Take a look into this system...looks like it would work with you long tube headers as well...shipping might be a little high for you
