Muffler Question
If you have a muffler on your car, doesnt matter if it is upside down? The inlets and out lets would be kept the same, the only difference is the muffler would be upside down. Would this effect anything or potentially harm anything? Also would this still pass emissions?
I heard that it might cause a potential problem with the condensation forming and what not.
Thanks,
Tony

All I know is that the number one killer of mufflers is condensation in the muffler. You can prevent rust. What happens is if the exhaust doesn’t become hot enough so short trips leave water in the muffler. I know because in my car my muffler is mounted sideways and I have to replace the muffler every year so, so through my experience I’d say try not to put it in any weird position. Hope that helps.

ive never seen a muffler "rust out" in a year....
aftermarket mufflers shouldnt matter which way you mount them.
factory mufflers have a lil drain hole, so some might mount in a certain fashion.

By the sounds of it, It shouldn't effect too much. And it seems it should still pass emissions. I just can't afford a new cat back system yet.
I guess I will try it out. Now I have to rotate the tail pipes about 180 degrees. That is going to be a pain.
Well I guess we will see.
