I currently run 12.20 at 120 threw the stock 2 3/4 exhuast with headers and a 3 inch muffler and tailpipe!
But i gain half a second using my exhuast dump..
Is there anyone other there that makes a good 3.5 exhaust or 4.0 exhaust that isnt too loud..
THanks
Brian

You have obviously done alot of work and spent some good money to go that fast... why not spend another $50 and get a pair or 3" cutouts and use one on each collector? Thats the most free-flowing exhaust you could have, which would be to your benefit, considering it takes around 500 fwhp to go that fast.

I want it to run that fast threw the exhaust and not have to jack around taking off the exhaust caps..
New Z06 vetts are supposed to run as fast as my car... and they have full exhuast..

Actually the Z06 has butter flys in the exhaust tips like a Throttle body/carb and is almost completly closed at idle and slowly opens with the exhuast.. that is why they are soo quiet at idle but soo loud at WOT
but the exhaust is still going threw cats and alot of pipe..

Yup, contact mufflex and go from there. Word of advice though, unless they've changed the hanger setup, don't use there crap. Get some REAL exhaust hangers and weld it up yourself. The way they send it to you will work but it hangs a little low. With a few cuts and some better hangers, you can tuck it up nice and tight without even being seen.
Good luck

Use your 2 3/4 pipe as a pattern. If you can weld and cut, order yourself some straight 3 1/2 or 4" tubing and mandrel bends and cut an tack yourself a pipe together that mimmicks the pipe you have. You will have to get creative at the connections though.

Magnaflow just came out with a 3 1/2 inch muffler that will work with our cars and the Mufflex exhaust. In fact you can order it with the kit from Mufflex. The part number is 12909. It is of the straight through design and is long enough to be on the quiet side. I have one on order through Summit and it is supposed to ship on 10/30/05. Hope this helps.

what is the main purpose of this car? why not just run lt's and 2.5"- 3" duals. you will have a much better performance gain. and im sure you could find mufflers like super turbos or something that are decently quiet.

I had made duals along time ago... too much added weight and poor performance..
a good single 3 inch exhuast is hard to beat.. Many dyno tests have proved how great a single exhuast can be..
Hell i ran 12.20 at 120 threw the stock extension pipe and 3 inch muffler.. and that was spinning in second gear..

Anyone have the link to pics of willie's dual 2.5" setup?
I think you definately need to run true duals with that hp... or at least a 4" mufflex

i just saw a recent post last night about shortys and duals. i think the pic was a black Z28.
for that much power man your gonna need duals. 2.5 inch set up into a set of those dynomax race mufflers or something of the equivalent. a single Y-pipe set up is like breathing through a straw.
