I have a 3 in American Thunder exhaust system, and decided that I am going to replace the cats. The only 3 inch inlit and outlit cat that I could find on summit was the catco one, and it said that it isnt compatable with the dual cat setup. Also they have a setup that comes wth (2) 2.25? inlit and a 2.5 outlit cats, so i was wondering if summit or any other place sold adapter pipes or soemthing like that so I can link these together. I also have the Headman 68491 CA headers. Any suggestions on a cat setup would be great also. And removing them is not an option, I want to stay smog legal. Thanks

 

I'm wondering myself why the Catco cat wouldn't work in a dual cat setup. Weren't the cats turned sideways in that setup? If that is the case, I would imagine that you could just install the two like that and they would work fine.

Of course, there might be more to the story since you live in CA.

 

I dont know what direction you mean by sideways but in my setup they are like (__) (__), which I think is regular. It is smog legal to have one catco cat, so I would imagine that two would be fine as well. Do you think it will be ok to just buy two 3' catco's and put them in there? Anyone have experience with this cat?
