Exhaust trick
Im making my own exhaust, im taking the facotry y-pipe, cutting it where it joins, and making it a true duel, should be a lot better then stock.
But, to make it legal, i need a cat.
If i use the cat as the H-pipe, would it be legal because it is on the exhaust?
I know it wont do anything, barely even equalize pressure, but would it pass visual because its on there>?

Actually, if its dual exhaust you are after, you'll need two cats... one on each pipe. Might be a good idea to check out the factory dual-cat setup.
Cat won't do **** if you use it as an H-pipe... and its gotta be in the factory location anyway. Since you need two cats, thats why I suggest you look at the factory dual cat setup.

In alot of places true duals aren't legal because of the cat position change. Check your local smog laws.
