Block Huggers a viable option

Ceramic coated block hugger headers are extremely cheap, and come in 1 3/4 primaries. I'm going to replace my cheapo Hedman headers when I do my K member install and I'm wondering if the block huggers would even be worth considering. I'm planning a Y pipe to a 3in single that dumps before the axle, or possibly true 2.5 duals (just a thought at the moment). Thanks again everyone.

Correction these were FLOWTECH headers I'm replacing.

i am also curious about the benefits and negatives of block huggers. i was planning on using hedman longtubes, but if the block hugger benefits out weigh the negatives of long tubes(ground clearence) then i would definetly give them a try.

I'm looking at them as a substitute for shorties such as the Hooker 2460's, the hookers are over 300 shipped for the ceramic coated ones, 160 shipped for a set of non coated ones, and the block huggers are 140 shipped for a set of ceramic coated units. The hooker 2460's dont appear to be equal length, and of course the block huggers aren't and the hookers don't appear to be alot longer than the huggers. I realize therre's going to be a power sacrifice but does anyone know how much? I also think that even the block huggers will outdo my flowtechs, plus I will be able to use my billet plug wire looms which'll make me smile. Hopefully someone has experience with these because I'm real curious if this is a decent idea.

You'd have the same ground clearance whether you used hedmans LTs or block huggers. The problem isn't with the headers, it's with routing the pipes around the frame rails.

Block huggers aren't an option at all with a stock K member anyway. They might clear a tubular K member, I don't know. They're also made for fitting into narrow-bodied applications like street rods, not for performance.
