got a couple of Q's

i got my eldelbrock headers and y-pipe in yesterday. i bought them used for $85 shipped. i cleaned them up some with some sos pads.... ill attach some pictures. my main concern is the y-pipe though. it is in kinda rough shape, and i dont have the money to get them sandblasted and/or powdercoated. i plan on painting them with some high temp paint and install them and later on ill do them right. is the y-pipe going to cause any problems besides looks being real rusty like that? i dont think it will but i figured id ask. my other question is where the headers bolt up to the y-pipe the little doughnut gasket things are pretty bad. can i replace those and if so how? if it wont be a problem ill just leave it and mess with them when i take them off later on. the other thing is im going to be putting a cutout right after the y-pipe. and then taking the cat off, gutting it and im gonna put a 3" pipe through the middle of it. so it will still look like the cat is there but it really will serve no purpose whatsoever. here are the pics. let me know what you think.

as long as it is surface rust, as it appears, it will do no hard, clean the extra surface rust off wsith a wire brush and paint it as well, heat stunts rust's growth, as long as the car is ran often and not sitting, rust will form very slowly. not enough to worry about to the extreme.

my main question now is what can i do with that round gasket type thing on the top of the y-pipe... you know the part of the y-pipe that the headers bolt too.

the donut gaskets you should be able to get new ones. i wouldnt recommend using the old ones if they look beat. i kno advance auto parts carries the edelbrock tes gaskest. i think their website is advanceautoparts.com or something like that. you can buy em right off their site or if theres one near you, you can go there and order em. edlebrock may also sell the gaskets.
