Re: sidepipes on a thirdgen?
I have an 86 iroc and someone may have asked this, but im too lazy to read everything haha. Is it possible to get the exhausts tight under the car. I was looking and i think it would work if it weren't for that damn flap of metal sticking down along the edge. Can you cut off a section of that. Like before where you put the jack. I love sidepipes but i don't want to see the whole pipe, just the exit. I think 2" off both headers and some glasspacks would be small enough too tuck up there behind the stock body kit. What do you think?

DBLTKE.... that looks bad ***. That's the only way I'd do side exhaust. Have it come out right in front of the rear tire.

I agree. I've always wanted to see somebody try that on a Camaro. There isn't too much room after the door but it may be possible. Eventually I'll try that on my car. LT's, 3" piping, X pipe, GMMG chambered mufflers and exiting like the picture I posted is my idea of the perfect true dual exhaust set up.

I've always liked the viper side exhaust, if there is a way to do it on my thirdgen I'm going to try it.

Re: sidepipes on a thirdgen?
Those body-integrated style side exit pipes are VERY hard to do... Yes that's muffler where floorpan used to be.

There's not really any better way to do it. There's floorpan and rocker panel structure where those pipes are trying to be.
