i currently have hedman longtube headers and im fixing to convert my car from a 700r4 to a manual 5speed. Will the longtubes interefere with the 5 speed or will they work? If it willl work, does anybody have any pictures of an exhaust system with longtubes and a t5. btw i searched and came up with nothin. thanx

Hookers would be better, buy they also cost a lot more. A hammer will save you some money if the engine isnt built to need 1.75" primaries

Hopefully you only have to dent them a little, for some reason I had to dent mine a lot, and I ended up throwing them in the garbage. That's if you decide to go with the hedmans. I also had to dent one primary. Hedman is $hit

Re: t5/longtubes
The Hooker P/N is 2210. Dont know about a y-pipe-----seems like i read that the mufflex y works on them. Also Doug's headers claim to fit the 5-speed and are less expensive than Hooker Jegs has them the ceramic coated are $535

also available in non-coated

Re: t5/longtubes
i have a tko 500 trans and went a different route with the driverside header
i cut the collector off and welded an extension of 6 inches onto the header then welded the collector back on and made a slope that drops down 1 inch on top of the tube where the bracket for the clutch slave is its about 4 inches across.kinda like a recess in the pipe and welded peices to clear it and have a mint seal

Re: t5/longtubes
when i do need them they are further back about 6-12 inches from where that pic leaves off,i run the round cats so its easier to fit em in tight spaces
other than that i dont run em

Re: t5/longtubes
i have the hedman longtubes and a tremec and lakewood bellhousing. the headers stock will not work, i had a guy add an extension in the tubes which dropped it down enough to clear a lakewood bellhousing.

BigDave, do I see a Spohn tranny xmember there? Looks like on the pass side you actually routed over the xmember with 1 tube rather than under like the driver side. What size is that tube?

Re: t5/longtubes
the hookers definately save you a headache in that part. but the hookers also typically require grinding on the k member for extra clearance, they did in mine and ive seen quite a few others on here.
