Hooker Aerochamber vs. Flowmaster 80
Hi I'm finishing up an ls1 in my 91 z28. It has the stock ls1 exhaust manifolds with custom exhaust and y pipe to the back (3".) I have a hooker aerochamber muffler sitting in may garage that had planned on using, but the person who used it before said it was too loud with his 327 and slp headers and says I should get a different one, and finish the exhaust with the RIGHT muffler. I thoguht it was pretty loud, too. Anyways I have an 80 series for a camaro that I could buy, and I was just wondering what other people thought of this muffler. Any ideas on which one I shoould use? i've never heard a flowmaster on a camaro, and am not sure what to expect.

The 80 series is going to be louder than the Aerochamber.

I liked my Trans Am's Aerochamber so much that I put one on my V8 Grand Cherokee as well. It's quiet compared to many others and flows extremely well. It rumbles at idle, then once you get the revs up it comes alive.

Hmm im starting to wonder, if there is something wrong with my muffler then or if that whole exhaust/engine combo is just loud? Maybe something with the lobe seperation. He had it advanced prety far too... Do any of the people with the aero chamber get any kind of rap towards higher rpms? I'm thinking I mgiht just use the Aero Chamber. Maybe I'll even get the ls1 started tonight.

Just a thought, but an LS1 would probably sound quite a bit different than a traditional SBC even through the same muffler.
