Installing Headers 84 T/A 305--Hooker 2055's
How much of a pain is this going to be? I swapped the headers in my 67 Camaro but I didn't have cool things like A/C, power steering, or the Smog Pump. I could drop them right in. Can I do that with these or do I have to do something crazy like tilt the motor or remove my A/C accumulator? I hope it's just a simple weekend job but...hehe good thing we just bought a new truck huh?

it will take you a full day. i just spent all day today working on my exhaust on my 89 formula it is a P.I.T.A. although you don't have to worry about snapping studs off of the manifolds. i've never done it before so i don't know for sure but it will be hard to get to the bolts on the manifolds to take them off of the heads

Well, I will plan a full day then. I was just reading some of the topics I cound under the search function and some seemed to help. Seems to me that the passenger side will be the toughest. No access to a lift here, but 4 jack stands should work ok I think. The garage here wants $275.00 to install them for me. I'm not too keen on spending that kind of money on something I should be able to do myself. Provided I don't snap off a bolt while doing it.

i would think that a bit of driving around before starting would help to get those bolts nice and worm kinda like the effect that using a torch on an old bolt has in aiding to remove it. good luck and yeah the passenger side is a royal pain to access when you have ac!

Any shorty header install Ive ever done on a thirdgen (ive done 6 of them), has NEVER taken me more than 2 hours...start to finish. And Ive never had to lift or tilt the motor. This was with Edelbrock TES, Hedman, and SLP.

Agreed.. My Hedmans took about an hour to install, and the only disassembly needed was the removal of the DS valve cover, and the #5 ans #7 spark plugs.
