I decided I would start a new thread for this very question. My chambered tube that I got from Classic Chambered Exhaust is a really good sounding muffler! The only problem I have with it is the high RPM CLAP CLAP CLAP!!!

Is there any way right now to get rid of it? Or is a new muffler in order?

I am actually considering a Borla XR-1, in stock location.

I think this sounds just AWESOME! And yes I realize that this is a 5.7 with mods, but he didn't have any clapping what so ever when he really gets on it!

So my question is, will this muffler clap, or do I just need to get it and try it out? I don't mind being a guinea pig hehe. Thanks!

What's your exhuast setup? I don't really know why your muffler would "clap" is there any way you can get us a sound clip of it? Usually when you have a clap sound like that you either have a miss or an exhaust leak. I don't fully understand what you mean by a clap though.

 

By clap, I mean as in a way quieter pop. It's like a quiet pop that has rythem. Wow, thats confusing. Its not random like when POPS happen but, gah this is hard. It's only over 3000 rpm it starts this noise.

Alright I got it! It's like a machine gun! As in that constant bang, bang, bang, bang, noise. Almost the same kinda noise, but not as loud.

Damnit, I really hope this helps describe it, I seriously can't think of anything else. I'll see if I can get a sound clip. Help you guys out. Or I might just buy the XR-1 and see how it sounds.
